LEVEL REQUIREMENTS (Ages 19+)

CURRICULUM

BASIC LEVEL 1 (6-12 months)

  • Positions: Attention (4x), Fight (8x)
  • Footwork: Step-slide (3x), V-step
  • Strikes: Lobtik, Arco 1-4, Redonda (2x)
  • Sinawali: 2+3 count
  • Drills: Numerada 1-6, Abecedario 1-6, 2-walls, Linear
  • Concepts: 3 Ranges, 3 Lines, Combate Heneral
  • Larga Mano: 1-6 Meet the force. 
  • Disarms: Snake
  • Karenza: Freestyle (1-4, blocks, arcos, kicks, etc)
  • Contra Baraw: grips, blocks, Inside/outside control
  • Sparring: 30×2 min. logged + 10×2 min. test

12 ANGLES OF ATTACK

NUMERADA

Numerada refers to the 12 Angles of Attack. It covers the main directions from which an attacks can come, not specific targets. Various variations exist. These are ours.

  • Angles 1-6 = Required for Basic Level 1
  • Angles 7-12 = Required for Basic Level 2

ABC's OF ESKRIMA

ABECEDARIO 1-6

Abecedario (ABC’s) is a classical Eskrima exercise that covers the use of footwork, distancing, blocks and counters in response to the 12 angles of attack. In addition, various concepts and principles are introduced through Abecedario.

  • Yellow arrows = incoming attack
  • Red arrows = your counters
